Holly Marie Combs was born December 3, 1973, in San Diego, California. At the time of her birth, her 15-year-old mother and 17-year-old father quit school to marry, only to divorce two years later. At the age of 8, Holly Marie moved to New York City with her mother, Lauralei, who had hopes of being an actress and a singer. Soon Holly Marie was appearing in print and television ads, so when her new stepfather moved into their cramped studio apartment when she was 12, he had two aspiring actresses on his hands.Holly Marie Combs is among the most talented and successful television actresses of her generation. Her stint on Picket Fences from 1992-1996 was impressive enough, what with all the Emmys the quirky series garnered, not to mention her own particular magnetism for critical acclaim.But who could have expected that "Kimberly Brock" would become "Piper Halliwell," the most rational of the three hot witch sisters on Charmed? Early on, insiders referred to Combs' role as the "Kate Jackson of Charmed," in reference to the character on Charlie's Angels who was smart and pretty, but slightly less sexy than the other two. We see the paraellel, but we must point out that no one in their right mind would call Holly Marie anything less than a beauty.
