Thanks to a rare combiniation of winsome girl-next-door charm and vulnerability, wholesome sex appeal and whip-smart comic timing, Jennifer Aniston found TV stardom playing Rachel Green, the spoiled rich girl making her way in life as a waitress and fashion buyer who relies on her "Friends" in the hit NBC sitcom, becoming one of the most popular actresses of her era. The petite, attractive actress grew up around show business; her godfather was actor Telly Savalas, her mother was a model and actress and her father had a career as a soap opera player. After graduating from NYC's famed High School for the Performing Arts in 1987, Aniston embarked on her career which consisted of TV commercials and a handful of Off-Broadway productions.

At age 20, she headed west and soon landed roles in a string of short-lived sitcoms, generally cast as spoiled or bratty siblings as in "Molloy" (Fox, 1989) and "Ferris Bueller" (NBC, 1990-91). A stint on the Fox variety sketch series "The Edge" (1992-93) further honed her comedic skills; she is perhaps best-recalled as a member of the paranoid, weapons-toting 'Armed Family'. After an agent suggested she lose weight, Aniston shed 30 pounds and won the role of Rachel on "Friends" (1994-2004). Although her shag hairdo got a lot of attention, she proved to be a gifted light comedienne, skillfully moving her character from a pampered girl to a self-reliant woman, along the way, engaging in a romance with the divorced Ross Geller (played by David Schwimmer), and later with the thick but loveable Joey (Matt LeBlanc). The role made Aniston a superstar and earned her four successive Emmy nominations (2000-2003), twice as Best Supporting Actress and twice as Best Lead Actress--she would take home the Lead Actress Emmy in 2002, as well as a Golden Globe in 2003.

While Aniston had appeared in the low-budget schlocky horror outing "Leprechaun" (1993), her small screen success led to feature offers. She tried to move slowly away from her TV image with supporting turns as the unhappily married wife of a womanizing stockbroker in Edward Burns' "She's the One" (1996) and an acerbic cameo as an overwhelmed young woman juggling career and motherhood in the otherwise forgettable "'Til There Was You" (1997). Her first lead, as an ambitious advertising executive who creates a fake boyfriend to insure her climb up the corporate ladder, in "Picture Perfect" (1997) proved both a critical and box-office disappointment but Aniston bounced back in the more serious role of a pregnant woman who forms a bond with her gay roommate in "The Object of My Affection" (1998). She had what was essentially a supporting role in "Office Space" (1999) and voiced the mother of the boy who discovers "The Iron Giant" (also 1999) in that underrated animated feature.

In 1997 Aniston became romantically to the handsome movie actor Brad Pitt, placing them on magazine covers as Hollywood's reigning "It" Couple for years to come. They married in July 2000 in a storybook Malibu wedding illuminated by fireworks. The couple worked together professionally only once, when Pitt appeared on a 2001 episode of "Friends" as a formerly fat high school class mate and onetime pal of Courteney Cox's Monica with a long-simmering resentment of Aniston's Rachel.

Aniston next appeared as the love interest to a salesman (Mark Wahlberg) who joins a heavy metal band in "Rock Star" (2001), anchoring the lightweight, high-concept film with its most convincing and emotional presence. In 2002, Aniston made an impressive debut on the indie-film scene as a conflicted housewife/retail worker in "The Good Girl," playing a bored and forlorn Midwestern housewife who discovers that throwing caution to the wind and bucking her staid life is not everthing she imagined it would. The following year, Aniston paired with Jim Carrey for the hit comedy feature "Bruce Almighty" (2003) as the girlfriend of a man gifted with God's powers. She fared even better in her follow-up "Along Came Polly" (2004), playing against type as a free spirit who teaches her risk-fearing new beau (Ben Stiller) how to take chances. The role cemented Aniston's status as a potential A-list movie star just as "Friends" drew to an end in May 2004.

As she moved on to her next projects, Aniston found herself in the center of a media tempest when she announced her split from Pitt, who subsequently appeared to responsible for the breakup when it appeared he began a romance with actress Angelina Jolie on the set of their film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" (2005). The drama played out in the entertainment media for several months, with Aniston finally giving a teary-eyed interview to Vanity Fair that, while taking some pains to play fair and amicable, decidely cast her as the unsuspecting victim and Pitt as the cad. Ironically, during the media firestorm Aniston was shooting "The Break-Up" (lensed 2005) in Chicago with actor Vince Vaughn, playing a divorcing couple struggling to continue to cohabitate. Rumors swirled of a budding relationship between the two stars, and despite denials they did appear to be a couple by fall of 2005 when Aniston had two films hitting theaters: the first, "Derailed," cast the actress and Clive Owen as two married business executives having an affair who are blackmailed by a violent criminal and must turn the tables to save their families; the second, director Rob Reiner's "Rumor Has It," saw Aniston playing Sarah Huttinger, who learns that her family was the inspiration for the book and film "The Graduate" -- and that she just might be the offspring of the notorious storyline.

Agneta Faltskog was born in Jonkoping on the 5th April 1950 to Ingvar and Brigot Faltskog. Ingvar Faltskog worked as a department store manager with a passion for music and amateur dramatics. At 15, Agnetha left school and got a job at a car firm as a telephonist. While working she performed with the dance band of Bernt Enghardt. Faltskog wrote the song, Jag var så kär, while with the band. Faltskog perform and song came to the attention of Karl Gerhard Lundkvist at Cupol records. The song was recorded and topped the Swedish charts in early 1968. An album was recorded entitled, Agnetha Faltskog.

In 1969, her second album entitled Agnetha Faltskog Vol 2 was released and was a major success. Also in 1969 Faltskog met Björn Ulvaeus for the first time and the couple got engaged. Ulvaeus was writing songs with Benny Anderson and Stig Anderson at this time. Benny’s girlfriend was Anni-Frid Lyngstad, who was a star in her own right. The foundations of ABBA had been layed.

In 1970, Faltskog put out her third album Som Jag Är. This was followed by the role of Mary Magdalene in the Swedish production of the international musical hit Jesus Christ Superstar in 1971. Faltskog also toured with her fourth album, När En Vacker Tanke Blir En Sång the same year. Agnetha and Björn Ulvaeus married in July of 1971 and on 23rd of February, 1973 there first child, Elin Linda Ulvaeus was born. Later that year Cupol released a fifth album, Agnetha Fältskogs Bästa, which was a compilation of Faltskog best previous work.

In 1974 ABBA formed to entered the Eurovision song contest, the title decided upon by Stig Anderson was Waterloo and was to be sung in English. The song won the national song contest and the group went onto England to represent Sweden in the 1974 Eurovision song contest. Waterloo won the contest, and subsequently top charts as number one in six countries and number six in America. Even through this hectic time, Faltskog managed to release another solo album Elva kvinnor i ett hus.

After touring in 1974, ABBA began recording their second album, ABBA. The same year, Agnetha released her sixth album entitled Elva Kvinnor I Ett Hus. The single, S.O.S. from ABBA’s album, was a monster international hit and broke Britain for the group. The single was followed by Mamma Mia which kept ABBA in the spotlight. Faltskog complete her final album for Cupol Records in 1975.

1975, brought the third ABBA album, Arrival , which featured hits like, Dancing Queen, Money, Money, Money and Knowing Me, Knowing You. The album was another mega success for ABBA. In 1977, Agnetha and Bjorn had their second child, Peter Christian Ulvaeus born on the 4th December. Prior to the birth, ABBA recorded The Album, which included more classics like Take A Chance On Me, The Name Of the Game and Thank You For The Music.

In 1979, Agnetha and Bjorn separated and divorced, but both agreed not to let the breakup effect ABBA and their professional careers. Three more albums followed, Voulez-Vous (1979), Super Trouper (1980) and The Visitors (1981), producing yet more hits like Chiquitita, Super Trouper, and The Winner Takes It All. In 1981, Benny and Anni-Frid also filed for divorce and the group began to breakup, with everyone doing new projects.

Agnetha returned to a solo career, this time recording in English. In 1982, Faltskog duetted with Tomas Ledin on the song Never Again which charted well in Europe. Faltskog also made her film debut in the Swedish movie Raskenstam.

Faltskog release her first solo album since ABBA in 1982 called Wrap Your Arms Around Me. The album topped the charts in Scandinavia and charted well in the rest of Europe and America. The singles The Heat Is On and Can’t Shake Loose also charted well.

Faltskog next album, Eyes of A Women, was released in 1985 was moderately successful, and produced the single I Won’t Let You Go. After her 1988 album, I Stand Alone, Faltskog withdrew from public life and devoted her life to raising her children. Faltskog married the Swedish surgeon, Tomas Sonnenfield in late 1990, however the couple divorced in 1993.

Agnetha did not return to music until 2004, when she released the single If I Thought You’d Ever Change Your Mind, which reached number 2 in Sweden and number 11 in the UK. This was followed by the album My Colouring Book, which was Faltskog singing classic sixties songs.

Brigitte Bardot was born on September 28, 1934 in Paris, France. Her father had an engineering degree and worked with his father in the family business. Her mother was 14 years younger than Brigitte's father and they married in 1933. Brigitte's mother encouraged her daughter to take up music and dance which she proved to be very adept at it. By the time she was 15 years old, Brigitte was attempting to model, finding herself in the French magazine Elle. Her beauty readily apparent, Brigitte soon attempted films. Based upon her success in French films she made her first US production in 1953 in ACT OF LOVE with Kirk Douglas. Back in France afterwards Brigitte continued to star in French productions. The fascination of her in the US consisted of magazines photographs and dubbed over French films. She was and always would be a totally French product. Nonetheless, she was extremely popular in the USA. In 1965, she appeared as herself in the US made DEAR BRIGITTE with Jimmy Stewart. She only appeared in one scene. Just before she turned 40, Brigitte retired from movies after filming IL SORRISO DEL GRANDE TENTATORE. She prefers life outside of stardom. While it enabled her to become internationally famous, it also carried with it annoyances. It wasn't anything for her to have "fans" enter her house or onto the grounds in the hopes of getting a glimpse of her or to take something that belonged to her. Salma Hayek was born on September 2, 1966, and was raised in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. Her religious parents wanted to ensure that their daughter would be well-educated and sent Salma to a Louisiana boarding school when she was twelve. A regular on the local Colombian talent show circuit, Shakira got her lucky break after moving to Bogotá, initially with hopes of pursuing a career in modelling. Thanks to local theatre producer Monica Ariza, the talented young star-to-be was thrust under the nose of Sony Colombia executive, Ciro Vargas. Following a successful live showcase, Shakira was signed to the label and went on to release her fist album, ‘Magia’ in 1991. The album failed to grab attention on the international market, but did wonders for Shakira’s profile in her home country. A second album, ‘Peligro’, in 1993 left Shakira dissatisfied with the music industry and she returned home to take a role in the Colombian soap opera, ‘El Oasis’.
Shakira’s first English album, ‘Laundry Service’, released in 2001 was to be the catalyst that would launch the young star onto the international stage. Having amassed a healthy collection of both English and Spanish songs, Shakira released both ‘Fijacion Oral, Vol. 1’ and ‘Oral Fixation, Vol. 2’ in 2005. Both song and Olivia's costume on the night were selected by a poll of TV viewers, and the whole mess showed just what was wrong with vox pop artistic taste. A truly awful oompah - oompah song, Long Live Love was chosen, together with a long flowing baby-blue dress for the actual performance.
This time Olivia was up against strong competition - 1974 was the year that ABBA stole the show with a barnstorming performance of their song "Waterloo", which launched their international career. Olivia came fourth.a producer was looking for a female lead to play opposite John Travolta in his forthcoming movie adaptation of the stage musical Grease. Olivia was not totally sure about playing in another movie and requested a screen test after she was asked to star. The scene was the drive-in and Olivia wowed Allan Carr. Released in June 1978, Grease went on to become one of the biggest selling musicals of all time and the soundtrack album stormed the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. Her album, Totally Hot, also released in 1978 showed a new musical direction away from her early ballads to more upbeat rock. The album was a great success and Olivia toured America, Japan and Europe with it.It was always going to be difficult to follow up such a huge success, and Olivia's next movie, Xanadu (1980), received a panning from the critics and did not draw the public into the cinema. However, the soundtrack was a roaring success, with Olivia's song Magic topping the US charts, and the title song, a duet with ELO, also selling well.In 1981 Olivia released the album Physical. The million-selling title track took up residence at #1 on the US charts for weeks - the second-longest run in the top spot. She had some trepidation about how her fans would like the new direction but she needn't have worried - they loved it!
With the aerobic feel of the title track and accompanying video, Olivia's early 80's trademark was the short cropped hair and headband.Her next change in musical direction was the sultry risqué approach of "Soulkiss" it was not really a musical success. Bizarrely, the videogram was shot when Olivia was pregnant with daughter Chloe - trying not to show this constrained the artistic freedom of the director somewhat.Chloe was born early 1986, and this marked a hiatus in Olivia's music. The period 1986 to 1992 was a lean period in her entertainment career, as she dedicated herself to motherhood, and to developing her business venture, the Koala Blue chain of stores.

Born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939 in Nutbush, Tennessee. Turner is of African American, Navajo, and Cherokee ancestry and was raised in St. Louis by her mother. It was there that she met rock and roll pioneer Ike Turner. The two achieved considerable success as a rhythm-and-blues vocal duo and became known for their electrifying stage and television performances. However, after years of abuse, the marriage and professional partnership was officially dissolved in 1976.After a slow start, Turner’s solo career took off with a remake of Al Green’s “Let's Stay Together” in 1983. Her much anticipated solo album, Private Dancer, won four Grammy Awards and sold well over 20 million copies worldwide. Subsequent albums include Break Every Rule (1986), Tina Live in Europe (1988, Grammy for Female Rock Vocal Performance) and Foreign Affair, which included the hit single “(Simply) The Best.” In the 1990s, she released Wildest Dreams and Twenty Four Seven.Turner also launched an acting career, appearing in the films Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdrome and The Last Action Hero. She has also made several recordings for soundtracks, including "We Don't Need Another Hero," “Goldeneye,” and "He Lives In You" for The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. In 1993, Turner’s best-selling 1986 autobiography I, Tina was made into the motion picture What's Love Got to Do with It? starring Angela Bassett. Her soundtrack for the movie went double platinum in the U.S.

Victoria Principal was born on January 3rd 1946 in Japan to an Air Force parents, Victor and Bertha Principale. The eldest of two daughters, she spent her childhood traveling from Japan to London to Florida and to Puerto Rico and eventually back to America and in all attending seventeen schools.Victoria scored her first big role alongside one of Hollywood’s greats, Paul Newman, in the movie ‘The Life and Time of Judge Roy Bean’ in which she played a Mexican mistress. This gave her the first Golden Globe nomination of her career as the Most Promising Newcomer.Later, in 1973, Victoria signed a contract to appear in ‘The Naked Ape' with Johnny Crawford but admitted years later on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson that she did not read the small print in the contract and was unaware that a topless scene was involved and stated it was the worse move of her life. However, in that same year it did lead to a pictorial in Hugh Hefner’s Playboy magazine.The Aaron Spelling approached Victoria and offered her a role in Fantasy Island starring with Ricardo Montalban and his sidekick Hervé Villechaize. This later led to her role in Spelling’s 1978 long running television series, ‘Dallas’ where starred with Howard Keel, Barbara Bel Geddes, Charlene Tilton, Ted Shackelford, Linda Gray and Ken Kercheval. With this role came her 1983 Golden Globe nomination as Best Actress in a Television Series.

Born 30 September 1980 in Kosice, Slovakia Best Known as Three-time Australian Open winner Martina Hingis turned pro at age 14 and quickly became one of the dominant tennis stars of the 1990s. In 1997 she nearly completed a rare Grand Slam, winning the Australian Open, the U.S. Open and Wimbledon and losing only in the French Open finals. Intensely competitive and a clever shotmaker, Hingis was ranked #1 in the world in women's singles in 1997, 1998 and 2000 and by the end of the year 2000 she had career prize winnings of $15 million. For a time she was part of a high-profile doubles team with fellow teen sensation Anna Kournikova. In 2002 Hingis battled ankle injuries, and in 2003 she announced that she was retiring from competitive tennis. However, she unretired three years later, making her official return to professional tennis on 2 January 2006 in the Australian women's hardcourt championships. She retired again in November 2007 after announcing that her urine sample had tested positive for cocaine at that year's Wimbledon; Hingis denied taking the drug, but said "I have no desire to spend the next several years of my life reduced to fighting against the doping officials."
